Climate protection through fewer greenhouse gases
By increasing the use of renewable energies and optimising sewage sludge incineration, we have been able to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions over the last eleven years from 143,000 tCO2e/ato 104,000 tCO2e/ain 2024. The emissions saved are comparable to those of 12,000 cars travelling 15,000 km per year.
We are actively involved in research projects and carry out our own measurement campaigns to record direct emissions at wastewater treatment plants. This enables us to develop measures to optimise processes and ensure low-emission operation.
