Hattingen sewer network
The city of Hattingen transferred its wastewater disposal obligations to the Ruhrverband on 1 July 2020. The technical and organisational management of the sewer network is carried out by the Regional Division West in Essen.
The Hattingen sewerage network is connected to a Ruhrverband sewage treatment plant and an Am Werth sewage treatment plant.
Local consultation hours for citizens
Hattingen Town Hall offers local consultation hours for citizens. You are welcome to make an appointment by telephone.
The City of Hattingen - Urban Drainage Department - is still responsible for the sewer connection fee and for rainwater drainage via street inlets (also in the event of a fault). The property owners are responsible for property connection pipes to the public sewer (even in the event of a fault).
Further information, including the division of responsibilities between the town of Hattingen and the Ruhrverband, can be found on the town's website.
