Technical data of the Henne dam

The barrier structure of the Henne dam is a rockfill dam with a two-layer asphalt concrete outer seal with a drainage layer and a special braking zone to prevent seepage inside the dam. It was one of the first dams with a surface seal made of asphalt concrete. Another special feature is the crown protection structure, a reinforced concrete construction weighing 5,000 tonnes under the crown of the structure.
