Traffic safety work at the Biggetal dam

Traffic safety work is currently being carried out at the Olper reservoir of the Biggetal dam. As several trees have to be felled along the edge of the reservoir, the path will be completely closed to pedestrians and cyclists for the duration of the work. The Ruhrverband points out that the barriers must not be walked or driven around under any circumstances, as there is a great danger of falling branches or falling trees in the cordoned-off area. The work is expected to last until the end of January 2026, after which the closure can be lifted again. The Ruhrverband asks for your understanding for any restrictions.
