Traffic safety work on the Sorperandweg of the Sorpe dam
The Ruhrverband is carrying out traffic safety and tree felling work along the Sorperandweg from now until 30 May 2026. The aim of the work is to ensure the long-term safety of visitors to the path at the Sorpe Dam.
As part of the work, deadwood will be removed and trees that are already dying will be felled. These are primarily birch trees, the condition of which could pose a potential hazard.
To carry out the work, sections of the Sorperand path will need to be closed. The affected areas will only be closed for the duration of the necessary measures. The closures will be lifted daily after the work has been completed, from 4 p.m. at the latest. Public traffic will not be affected by the work.
The Ruhrverband asks visitors for their understanding for the temporary restrictions and asks them not to avoid the closures or cycle around them for safety reasons.
