Ruhrverband invites you to an open day at the Henne Dam

Insights, experience and commitment for a good cause

Next Sunday, 26 April 2026, the Ruhrverband cordially invites you to the Open Day at the Henne Dam from 11:00 to 17:00. Visitors can expect a varied programme for the whole family.

The focus will be on exciting insights into areas that are otherwise not accessible to the public. For example, the power station and tunnels can be visited. This is complemented by numerous information offers: At the Infomobile, interested visitors can learn all about water management, technology and the environment. Companies from the region will also be presenting themselves at other information stands. Our co-operation partner, Hochsauerlandwasser GmbH, also offers a great highlight. The neighbouring waterworks opens its doors and invites visitors to take part in guided tours that provide rare insights into the region's drinking water supply.

Entertainment is also provided. A bouncy castle, face painting and hands-on activities such as building insect hotels and nesting boxes are particularly aimed at families with children. Live music and a wide range of food and drink will ensure a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to information and entertainment, this year's event will once again focus on a good cause. As part of the event, donations will be collected for the Kinderherz foundation. Visitors have the opportunity to donate directly on site. Alternatively, donations can also be made online: https://www.stiftung-kinderherz.de/event-spendenaktionen#/detail/74121

The Ruhrverband is looking forward to welcoming numerous guests, interesting discussions and a successful day at the Hennetalsperre, characterised by information, encounters and community involvement.
