Ruhrverband carries out culvert cleaning in Schalksmühle

Traffic lights at the roadworks site are regulating traffic on the B54 whilst flushing operations are underway

On 22 June 2026, the Ruhrverband will carry out essential culvert cleaning in the ‘In der Lieth’ area of the Schalksmühle sewer network. This work is being carried out to ensure proper operation and drainage capacity, as deposits have built up in the culvert and need to be removed.

The cleaning will involve flushing the culvert from a manhole located on the B54. The carriageway from Hagen towards Schalksmühle will be closed to traffic during the flushing works in the affected section (Volmestraße, opposite number 48). For the duration of the works, traffic on the B54 in the affected section will be regulated by traffic lights during the day. The work is expected to be completed within one day.

The Ruhrverband asks for your understanding regarding the unavoidable disruption. The aim is to carry out the work swiftly and with as little impact on traffic as possible.
