Ruhrverband is participating in the digital knowledge platform knowH2O via Ruhrverband Holding GmbH in order to innovatively organise further training and knowledge transfer in the water and wastewater industry together with its new shareholders Gelsenwasser AG and the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW). With this step, Ruhrverband is pursuing the goal of further developing its own digital training programmes and making them available to other companies in the water industry.
The knowH2O platform provides practical content and is aimed at the water industry, which in Germany is characterised by predominantly smaller municipal companies with around 6,500 water suppliers and up to 8,000 wastewater disposal companies. In order to meet the challenges of this diverse stakeholder landscape, knowH2O relies on digital tools that are specifically tailored to the needs of training and onboarding. Both large and small companies and organisations benefit from the opportunities offered to increase efficiency and collaboration.
Ruhrverband is contributing its extensive water management expertise to the project and aims to further develop the content of the platform and tailor it specifically to the requirements of water and wastewater companies. At the same time, the offer is aimed at a broad target group, including local authorities, engineering offices, universities and public institutions.
Carolin-Beate Fieback, Head of Human Resources at Ruhrverband, emphasises the versatility and practical benefits of knowH2O: "The platform not only facilitates the exchange and transfer of knowledge in the industry, but also supports us in our internal training. We can create individual development concepts for our staff, implement training courses efficiently and document the results by awarding certificates."
knowH2O combines technical, commercial and legal expertise in a practical form that enables users to apply this content directly in their day-to-day work. Thanks to the industry-specific preparation of the materials, the platform creates a high level of added value and supports companies in better meeting current and future requirements.
By participating in knowH2O, the Ruhrverband is focusing on the consistent digitalisation of the water industry and wants to establish the platform as a central tool for knowledge transfer.
