Lister dam: deep water aeration is being discontinued

The Ruhrverband stopped the precautionary deep water aeration of the Listertalsperre on Friday, 17 October 2025. The system had been in operation since the beginning of October to prevent temperature stratification from forming in the reservoir, which would trap cold-loving fish species at the bottom of the lake. As soon as the aeration system has been dismantled and removed, the small car park next to the Lister dam can be reopened to visitors. It was closed as a car park for the plant during the aeration measures. The temporary ban on fishing in the vicinity of the oxygen enrichment plant will also be lifted when the plant is decommissioned.
