The water level at Ahauser Reservoir is to be lowered once again

Work on the inlet valve of the main drain

The water level will be lowered again over the last weekend in May to allow for further repair work on bottom outlet 2 of the Ahaus Reservoir. The water level will be lowered gradually to a height of 239.50 metres above sea level. This is necessary to carry out work on the spindle and spindle nut on the inlet gate’s drive mechanism. Provided the work proceeds according to plan, the reservoir is scheduled to be refilled from 1 June (Monday). The Ruhrverband points out that exposed bank areas are unstable and must not be entered for safety reasons. There is a risk of subsidence! Fishing is also prohibited during the period when the water level is lowered.
