The planning, financing, approval, construction, operation and monitoring of the Ruhrverband's facilities, river basin management and corporate management place high demands on the expertise of its employees. Keeping abreast of the latest developments is an entrepreneurial necessity but also a demanding challenge, as specific knowledge is constantly evolving.
The Ruhrverband organises its activities as precisely as possible through centralised innovation management. The key element here is a broad and functioning internal and external network. The Ruhrverband's core tasks are always at the centre of its activities. Research and development at Ruhrverband, which takes place specifically in the engineering and scientific core business, is therefore always related to specific applications in order to implement improvements efficiently. In co-operation with universities and research institutes, public funding can often be obtained for this development work.
The Ruhrverband is involved as a practice partner in numerous funded research projects as a joint partner with its own funding or as an associated partner without funding. Funding can be provided at state, federal or EU level. Project partners are universities and colleges, research institutes, engineering offices or industrial companies.
