Prof Norbert Jardin
Chairman of the Executive Board, Chief Technology and River Basin Management Officer
Prof Norbert Jardin has been a member of the Executive Board since March 2016 and is responsible for Technology and River Basin Management. He was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board in November 2019. Norbert Jardin studied civil engineering at the universities of Karlsruhe, Darmstadt and Stanford (USA), completed his doctorate in 1995 on increased biological phosphorus elimination and was head of the Ruhrverband's planning department from 1997. He is the author of more than 120 scientific publications and has received several awards, including the Karl Imhoff Prize from the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) and the Eddy Medal from the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Since 2007, Norbert Jardin has been an honorary professor at the TU Darmstadt, where he is involved in the training of young engineers and, together with Prof Klaus R. Imhoff, is the editor of the standard work "Taschenbuch der Stadtentwässerung".
Christoph Gerbersmann
Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Chief Financial Officer
Christoph Gerbersmann has been Head of Finance on the Executive Board since October 2024. He was previously First Alderman and Treasurer of the City of Hagen for many years, where he was responsible for finance and information technology. In 2015, he took over as Chairman of the Association of Treasurers in NRW. He has also been committed to nature conservation and environmental protection for over 40 years, as after graduating with a degree in engineering, he was Managing Director of the Hagen Environmental Centre for seven years. Christoph Gerbersmann brings his knowledge of the environment and information technology to the Ruhrverband, where he is responsible for the legal department and information technology as well as the central finance department.
Carolin-Beate Fieback
Head of Human Resources, Administration and Social Affairs
Carolin-Beate Fieback has been Head of Human Resources, Administration and Social Affairs since May 2024. The trained industrial clerk and graduate in business administration has been with Ruhrverband since 1998 and has held various positions within the company, most recently as Chairwoman of the Staff Council. She has been honorary chairwoman of the ver.di Ruhr-West district for many years and is primarily responsible for issues relating to the energy, waste and water industry in NRW. As a top official, she played a decisive role in the further development of the collective labour agreement for the water industry. She has also represented the interests of employees on the Association Council, the highest supervisory body of the Ruhrverband, for many years. Carolin-Beate Fieback is a trained mediator and has long acted as a social contact person (SAP) to help Ruhrverband employees overcome professional and personal difficulties.
