Preventing and combating corruption are an integral part of corporate governance at the Ruhrverband. We are mindful of our responsibilities as a public-sector organisation and handle this issue transparently. 

A corresponding service instruction sets out measures to raise staff awareness and to prevent and combat corruption, and specifies the specific procedures to be followed in the event of a suspected case. Furthermore, the Ruhrverband follows the recommendations on corruption prevention within the federal administration and has consequently subjected all areas of its operations to a systematic analysis of their specific corruption risks. The existing anti-corruption measures are regularly reviewed to ensure their effectiveness. In addition to these measures, the procurement guidelines applicable to the Ruhrverband ensure a transparent, cost-effective and competition-compliant approach to public procurement. 

In accordance with Section 7 in conjunction with Section 1(1)(4) of the Anti-Corruption Act, the members of the Ruhrverband’s governing bodies provide information on, amongst other things, consultancy contracts, membership of supervisory boards and governing bodies, and roles in associations.
